The 2011 Batavia Hamfest and 3.955 Picnic was again a GREAT success. "HAM OF THE YEAR" Was given to Ed AB2HW. The VERY special "Whisky Tango Foxtrot" Award was given to Kevin W2KJM.

3955 57 Years of Service In 1951 a group of amateurs tackled the job of setting up reliable communications between cities in PA. Civil Defense had tried this twice before but could never make the system work. The FCC recommended 3.990 as the operating Frequency and the new General Coverage system was up and running. In time 3.990 became unusable and the FCC changed to 3.955 along with The Overseas Network which is still in use today. 3.955 is in use daily in the mornings and evenings 365 days a year. Stop in and say hello to one of the last originators of this long running net. After 53 years Ray K3COJ is on mornings from 8-9:00 EST
